Parrot Swing: Mini Quadcopter with Airplane-Like Horizontal Flying

PARROT Swing Drone

This strange-looking drone is probably on the verge between a quadcopter and conventional wing aircraft — and that’s actually a good thing. With four propellers, Parrot Swing can easily take off and land vertically, eliminating the need for a long runway. However, its four arms also behave like a wing which helps it cruise horizontally at much better power efficiency.

The lack of an aerial camera system meant this drone is designed for fun, allowing beginners to fly for the first time, or professionals flexing their piloting muscles with acrobatic tricks. A minimalistic design approach helps the drone to reach up to 19 mph and battery life that claimed to be good for 8 minutes of flying. Additionally, being lightweight also means the drone is less likely to be badly damaged in the event of a crash.
